Orquesta de Tango EMBA's biography

Orquesta de Tango EMBA

The EMBA (Buenos Aires School of Music) Tango Orchestra, created in 1996, is a school-orchestra, in the typical format, led by Professor Fernando Taborda, Head of the Tango Department of the EMBA. One of his goals is to teach the tango repertoire from the 1940´s and 50’s to future generations of musicians and also experiment with more modern tango from Piazzolla onwards. Every year there are auditions to select the students that will integrate the orchestra for a period of two years. This way, every position of the orchestra has a student "in performance" and another one "in preparation", as to ensure the quality of the artistic project and teaching continuity. Members: Carmen Vecchio, Catalina Carnicer, Diego Gonzalez (concertina), Soul Scolnik, Lucia Cutuli, Galo Fernando and Segarra Morales (violins), Samuel Izcaray (viola), Rodrigo Aguado Benitez (piano), Julian Lopez Trample (bass), Gabriel Fernandez (guitar), Nicolás Manrique (vocals), Fernando Taborda (Director and first concertina).
