Julieta Laso - Cuarteto La Púa y Black Rodríguez Méndez's biography

Julieta Laso - Cuarteto La Púa y Black Rodríguez Méndez

To a repertoire of tango classics and milongas that are a worthy continuation of Roberto Grela, Bartolomé Palermo or Los Indios Tacunau, La púa adds pieces historically reserved for the typical tango orchestra, including, for example, “Si sos brujo” (Emilio Balcarce), “El andariego” (Alfredo Gobbi), “A los amigos” (Armando Pontier). The Quartet La Púa is formed by Leandro Angeli, Cristian Huillier and Juan Otero in guitars and Pablo Sensottera in guitarrón. At the beginning of 2010, the voice of Black Rodriguez Mendez joins the quartet and makes the perfect match with criollo singer that a quartet of guitars needs. In 2007, La Púa presented his first album called El Puazo. In 2009, they edited their second album En alguna parte, where their aesthetics are consolidated.
In this opportunity they will share the stage with Julieta Laso, porteña singer and actress, born in 1982. She comfortably moves in a repertoire of reo tangos such as the classics De mi barrio or En un feca, and milongas such as Apología tanguera. Her theatrical training is revealed by the character she imprints in her performances, inspired by the long tradition of actresses-singers that this genre saw going through the stage. She will be accompanied by Leandro Angeli, Juan Otero and Germán Montaldo in guitars.
