Juan Carlos Godoy presenta Canchero's biography

87 -year- old remarkable Juan Carlos Godoy will present his first solo record singing Carlos Gardel’s repertoire, registered between 1925 and 1930. Carlos Juarez y sus guitarras is in charge of the arrangements and accompaniment. Godoy recovered a great number of masterly works in which the characters, the city, the passions, the memories and love appear. The CD edited by Río de la Plata, directed by Cecilia Orrillo and Gabriel Soria, attempts to recover Godoy’s fresh voice. After being part of Ricardo Tanturi, Alfredo De Angelis and José Basso’s orchestras and becoming a well-known person in Café de los Maestros’ project, Juan Carlos Godoy bears testimony to his highly-regarded Carlos Gardel, in commemoration of the 75 years of his death. The repertoire includes: “Canchero”, “Besos que matan”, “El poncho del amor”, “Traicionera”, “Tu vieja ventana”, “Palermo”, “Uno y uno”, “Barajando”, “Paquetín paquetón”, “Incurable”, “Gacho gris”, “La reina del tango”, “Hágame el favor”, “La pena del payador” and “Lechuza”, among others.
