Orquesta Típica del Río de la Plata's biography

Orquesta Típica del Río de la Plata

Tango Buenos Aires developed a unique project: a typical orchestra in which Montevideo and Buenos Aires get together with instrumentalists and singers from the two shores, an exclusive repertoire with pieces from contemporary compositors from both sides of the river and a style that synthesizes the best tango inheritance form the two capital cities of this genre. The debut of Río de la Plata Orchestra is registered, with a contemporary language, in the historical Uruguayan-Argentine communion that was funded by pioneers such as Gobbi and Ángel Villoldo, Matos Rodríguez and Firpo. With the pianist Andrés Linetzky in charge of the arrangements and the musical direction, the Orquesta will perform pieces by the Uruguayans Fernando Cabrera, Manuel Picón, Pablo Routin, Pitufo Lombardo, Esteban Klisich and Raúl Jaurena among others; and the Argentine Nicolás Ledesma, Carlos Corrales, Ramiro Gallo, Julián Peralta, and Linetzky himself. The singers of the orchestra are: Noelia Moncada, Esteban Riera, Guillermo Fernández, Pablo “Pinocho” Routin, Tabaré Leyton and Gabriela Morgare.
