Walter Ríos's biography

“Where does the man start and where does the bellow?” says the writer Rodolfo Relman in Fuelle, the poem he dedicated to Walter Ríos. “He finds an almost impossible balance between exquisite technique, beauty in the phrasing and that “dirt” without which tango seems something else”, Diego Fischerman wrote. This remarkable concertina player that has a dozen solo albums also accompanied, among others, Oscar Alonso, Alberto Castillo, Hugo del Carril, Tania, Edmundo Rivero, Roberto Rufino, Roberto Goyeneche, Susana Rinaldi, Fernando Soler, Raúl Lavié, Chico Novarro, Eladia Blázquez, Adriana Varela and Horacio Molina. He was the musical director of the Cosquin Festival, director of the major sextet of the company Tango Pasión, director of Forever Tango form the United States, director of the Buenos Aires Tango Company in Japan, guest director of El Viejo Almacén, one of the directors of Selección Nacional de Tango, director of Señor Tango. He won the Min-On Art Award and was named Distinguished Culture Figure of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. He will perform with his trio and Mariel DuPetit as guest singer.
