Marisa Vázquez 's biography

Marisa Vázquez

After her album Retratos (2005), she is presenting her new work Esa Mujer. It is worth mentioning that nine of the twelve pieces of this album are her own compositions, two of them featuring Bernardo Baraj, one of them Ramon Maschi, and another one Román Vergagni. Her roots as a singer dates from 1989, when she made her debut with the Orquesta Nacional de Música Argentina Juan De Dios Filiberto, directed by her godfather and discoverer Osvaldo Piro. Then she performed in Europe, mainly in France, making concerts in Malmö, Helsingborg, Simrishamm, Lund (Sweden); Helsingor and Copenhagen (Denmark); Rennes, Bordeaux, Lion, Chavagne and Paris (France); Madrid, Villena and Vigo (Spain), among other cities. Her musicians are: Carolina Cajal, double bass, Rubén Slonimsky, concertina, Jerónimo Aceituno Peña, percussion, Irene Canario, violin, Ramón Maschio, guitar, arrangements and directions and – as a special guest – the saxophonist Bernardo Baraj.
