Proyección de Tete y Silvia, milongueros el TANGO EN FRANCIA, por ODILE FILLION

Odile Fillion is a video maker, visual artist, and a journalist specialized in design and architecture. Her passion for Tango led her to shoot two documentaries on the subject: Paris, le tango et Buenos Aires (2008) and Tete y Silvia, milongueros. The second short film, a documentary about the famous dancer, will be screened for the first time in Buenos Aires. Afterwards, Fillion, a connoisseur of the historical production of tango in France, will play recorded material that is barely known.
History says that in 1928 Gardel made his debut at the cabaret Florida in Paris, as testified by Enrique Cadícamo. But already in 1900, a silent film had been screened featuring images of the “exotic dance;” and in 1905, Enrique Saborido danced tango at the Rothschild. In 1907, a key year, the Gath & Chaves store made recordings with Alfredo Gobbi and his singer wife together with Ángel Villoldo.
