QUETANGO (CANADÁ)'s biography
The group Quetango, based in Quebec and mainly composed of Canadian musicians, has developed a language in which contemporary jazz, chamber music and even some nods to 1970s progressive music dialogue with Tango. This combination from the point of view of the French-Canadian culture imbues the ensemble with an original, multicultural sound. In 2007, they released the album Postango, which received a nomination from the ADISQ (Association of the Record and Entertainment Industry of Quebec) in the category Instrumental Album of the Year. From that year on, they performed in a series of concerts for Canada’s Bravo! television channel and for the CBC Radio 2. They will perform for the first time in Argentina within the framework of Tango Buenos Aires Festival and World Cup.
The members of the ensemble are: Daniel Finzi (violoncello), Jonathan Hains (guitars), Frédéric Vermette (double bass) and Simon Boudreault (percussion).
