ORQUESTA DE LEOPOLDO FEDERICO's biography

ORQUESTA DE LEOPOLDO FEDERICO

Bandoneon player, arranger, director and composer, Leopoldo Federico is basically a living encyclopedia of Tango. As a member of the major orchestras of the 1940s and 50s, he got to know them very well. From Carlos Di Sarli and Alfredo Gobbi to Horacio Salgán and Osmar Maderna, he performed with all the directors that defined the variety and richness of styles. Hence his own orchestra—with which he has been performing for over half a century—condenses a good part of Tango’s history, secrets, forms, tricks, and technical elements. It gathers musicians of different generations. They are Leopoldo Federico, Federico Pereiro, Lautaro Greco and Carlos Corrales (bandoneons), Damián Bolotin, Brigita Danko, Pablo Agri and Mauricio Svidovsky (violins), Diego Sánchez (violoncello), Horacio Cabarcos (double bass), Nicolás Ledesma (piano) and Carlos Gari (vocals).
