Biography / Synopsis
HORACIO FERRER PRESENTA FLOR DE TANGOS Y POEMAS's biography
The union of Astor Piazzolla and Horacio Ferrer brought back a tradition left behind by the late-‘60s tango: songwriting duos. Again, music and lyrics were united in a synergy bringing about the chemistry of the best musicians. So, following the footsteps of great artists like Manzi, Cadícamo and Expósito, Ferrer took a step forward by renewing tango lyrics with canyengue metaphors and playful, surrealist images. In his new material, Flor de tangos y poemas, to be officially presented in this concert, accompanied by maestro Juan Trepiana (piano), Ferrer plays some of the classics created with Piazzolla (“Balada para un loco,” “La bicicleta Blanca,” “Chiquilín de Bachín”) and songwriters like Osvaldo Tarantino and Héctor Stamponi, in addition to new poems specially written for the album.
