ORQUESTA DE CUERDAS ELVINO VARDARO's biography
Created in 2009, the TangoContempo series has become an outlet for musicians to play and spread their new compositions. Its artistic director is guitarist Esteban Falabella. At the Festival, TangoContempo jointly with ConCiertos Atorrantes will exclusively present the brand-new Orquesta de Cuerdas Elvino Vardaro. The large ensemble is composed of Christine Brebes, César Rago, Lucas Furno, Juan Bringas, Julieta Bril, Luis Alberto Simo, Carlos Morbidoni, Ernesto Gómez, Marcela Vigide, Miriam Skotland, Ahram Kim, Martijn van der Linden and Cecilia Carnero (violins), Fernando Estrup, Laura Fregosini, Ana Laura Soler and Joaquín Ohrnialian (violas), and Adrián Speziale and Cecilia Basto (cello). The orchestra will perform two concerts featuring new music by Diego Schissi, Emiliano Greco, Nicolás Guerschberg, Daniel Ruggiero, José “Pepo” Ogivieki, and Orquesta Astillero.

Created at the beginning of 2009, the TangoContempo concert series has become an outlet for musicians to play and spread their new compositions. With the artistic direction of guitarist Esteban Falabella, concerts are held weekly at Café Vinilo which reflect the vitality of tango as music of this century: over 87 groups and soloists have already performed.
