NICOLÁS GUERSCHBERG SEXTETO PRESENTA MOVIMIENTOS PORTEÑOS

Gerardo Gandini was right when he wrote that the pianist Nicolás Guerschberg is “an amphibious musician, what is important is that despite swimming in many waters, he never drowns.” Guerschberg’s experience encompasses tango, jazz and contemporary music. As a member and arranger of the Escalandrum ensemble and the accompanist of German singer Ute Lemper, without losing sight of his pieces played by Camerata Bariloche and European chamber ensembles, he has traced a singular path, rooted both in music from Buenos Aires and in a cosmopolitan outlook. This time he will officially present his third solo album Movimientos porteños, accompanied by his sextet, including Alejandro Guerschberg (bandoneon), Esteban Falabella (guitar), César Rago (violin), Juan Pablo Navarro (double bass) and Martín Pantyrer (bass clarinet).

TANGOCONTEMPO

Created at the beginning of 2009, the TangoContempo concert series has become an outlet for musicians to play and spread their new compositions. With the artistic direction of guitarist Esteban Falabella, concerts are held weekly at Café Vinilo which reflect the vitality of tango as music of this century: over 87 groups and soloists have already performed. In this edition, TangoContempo actively participates with a wide array of concerts including the performance by the String Orchestra of Elvino Vardaro. www.tangocontempo.com
