HOMENAJE A OSMAR MADERNA CON LA ORQUESTA TíPICA SANS SOUCI

A few did so much for Tango and in such a short time like Osmar Maderna. Born in Pehuajó in 1918, the pianist and arranger played a major role in the 50s developing a pianistic approach full of romanticism and an orchestration style free from pomposity and excess. With his early death, in 1951, his notable scores for Miguel Caló’s Typical Orchestra and his own were etched in the collective memory, as well as his inspired compositional talent reflected in pieces like “Lluvia de estrellas” and “Concierto en la luna.” 60 years after the decease of the great musician, the Sans Souci Typical Orchestra—which has been reviving Maderna’s sound since 1999, through a great work of listening and transcription of original recordings—pays homage to him with a special concert featuring singer Héctor De Rosas, who made his debut with Maderna in 1949, and the great singer Alberto Podestá.
