ORQUESTA TÍPICA CONCIERTOS ATORRANTES's biography
In October 2010, ConCiertos Atorrantes organized the 1st Tango Festival of Almagro, offering a series of concerts at different venues of the city’s neighborhood. The event lasted three days and its closing party was held on the streets, opposite Almagro’s park. The festival featured the participation of the organizing groups, and the debut of the Orquesta Típica ConCiertos Atorrantes, an ensemble made up of young members, who played new pieces and accompanied Guillermo Fernández, at the closing of the festival.
CONCIERTOS ATORRANTES
Conciertos Atorrantes is a weekly series of concerts offered at Sanata Bar, in the neighborhood of Almagro. More than 50 tango groups have performed between 2009 and 2011. Most of them are made up of young musicians who try—successfully—to give the genre not only a new space for creation, but also an aesthetic and artistic support that will be the model for creating similar cultural outlets.
