OMAR MOLLO's biography
Next year is the 10th anniversary since Omar Mollo decided that his husky, porteño-accented vocals are suitable for both tango and rock, a genre he has embraced since very young as cofounder—with his brother Ricardo—of the legendary band M.A.M. With his seasoned rocker looks and an intense, personal singing style, the man from the west of the Buenos Aires province—after seven years of tours and performances—has become an example of the genre’s success in places like Finland, Russia and the Netherlands (where he has lived for the last five years). Today at the Festival, back from a long tour around Europe and about to hit the road to the old continent, Mollo will perform songs from his three albums (Tango, Gola and Y que siga…), in a trio together with Omar Massa (bandoneon) and Diego Ramos (piano).
