Synopsis
Renowned directors, young creators, film students: they’re all democratically mixed together as they offer a vivid mosaic portrait of one of the main philosophers and writers of modern times. These short films come from Switzerland, France, Germany, Canadian Quebec, Lebanon, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, and the United States, and they show the extraordinary vitality and validity of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who was born 300 years ago. Far from being a celebration, they’re a powerful argument in favor of freedom, social contracts, education, our connection to other people, subjectivity, and love.
Thanks to the kindness of Rita Productions and the Locarno International Film Festival, Bafici screens many of these short films in their world or international premieres.
