BAL’S WORK IN PROGRESS EXHIBITION

EXHIBICIÓN DE WORK IN PROGRESS EN BAL

The second exhibition of works in progress at the final production stage is today, Friday, at 3.00 pm, at Hoyts 5. These projects have been selected by the Buenos Aires Lab (BAL), the section of the BAFICI that supports and promotes independent film projects made in Latin America. Although free of charge, tickets are required and must be picked up at the Information Desk (Plaza del Zorzal, Abasto Shopping Mall) starting at 10.00 am. This year, the selected projects of “Work in Progress” are: 3 (Uruguay) by Pablo Stoll, Aurora (Argentina) by Nele Wohlatz, Bonsái (Chile) by Cristián Jiménez, Cassandra (Argentina) by Inés de Oliveira Cézar, De jueves a domingo (Chile-Argentina-Netherlands) by Dominga Sotomayor (photo), El ojo del tiburón (Argentina-Spain-Costa Rica) by Alejo Hoijman, Escuela normal (Argentina) by Celina Murga, Los días (Argentina) by Ezequiel Yanco, and Salsipuedes (Argentina) by Mariano Luque.

In this section of BAL the following grants for distribution, equipment and post-production will be awarded: Mantarraya Award (distribution in Mexico, 5 thousand dollars for the acquisition), NCP-Holland (subtitles of a film copy), Estudio Ñandú (a maximum of 80 hours of audio post-production, with access to facilities, equipment and qualified operators), Lahaye (Cinealta HD camera equipment for 20 days, or editing room for up to 8 hours plus 6 hours of color correction), Tauro Digital (96 hours of post-production), and Sinsistema (digital lab and online 4K post-production services for a feature film of up to 120 minutes). The jury is composed by the documentary maker Marta Andreu, the Argentine director Andrés di Tella and the Italian Vincenzo Bugno, member of the Selection Committee for the World Cinema Fund of the Berlin Festival.
