Synopsis
An unleashed animation film based in a comic book by José Ignacio Solórzano and Tirino Camacho that was very successful in Mexico, El Santos vs la Tetona Mendoza speaks about lots of things, raves a lot, and throws acid everywhere and at a thousand miles per hour. Santos is a fighter (in Mexico’s wrestling, which we call catch or “Ring Titans style”) who divorced Tetona Mendoza, a female fighter who now also owns a very successful brothel (the Tetona’s Palace). In that scenario, El Santos comes up with the idea of campaigning for the zombies with a memorable song in the style of “USA for Africa”. And the zombie plague is coming, the zombie invasion, and another wrestler comes up and tries to seduce Tetona: the Peyote Asesino, Santos’ rival. Zombies must be annihilated. Must zombies be annihilated? How the world, or at least Mexico, would be without zombies? These and other key questions are posed in this corrosive film that throws darts at politics, traditions, and show business. And it does so in a spectacular way, laughing at everything and everyone. Including itself. JPF
