ALL SET TO KICK OFF

The eighth edition of the Festival starts this coming Saturday: two weeks of the best in contemporary performing arts at 30 venues, with stage productions of 14 international companies and 34 national ones (including 6 never-before-staged plays). Today, Friday, is the last day of presale for the first weekend's shows with remaining tickets. Among them, Alexis, una tragedia greca by the Italian company Motus at Teatro Regio; Yo no soy bonita by Spanish Angélica Liddell at the Sala Casacuberta of Teatro San Martín, and the 3-part choreographic series performed by the Brazilian São Paulo Companhia de Dança at Teatro Presidente Alvear. There are also tickets available for the concert by Spanish flamenco singer Estrella Morente on Monday 26 at Teatro Coliseo. They can be purchased through www.festivales.gob.ar and in person at these point-of-sale locations: Casa de la Cultura (Av. de Mayo 575) and Teatro San Martín (Av. Corrientes 1530), from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The top-quality and varied program will allow to enjoy the very best and newest of the Argentine theater scene as well as plays by prestigious companies from Germany, Brazil, Chile, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Mexico, Swiss and Uruguay. There are 6 different passes including tickets to see four international shows (orchestra seats only) and one free-of-charge ticket to enjoy the premiere of a national production from the Contest of Theater Projects of FIBA 2011 (subject to availability).
