TOMORROW, CONCERT BY ESTRELLA MORENTE

MAÑANA, RECITAL DE ESTRELLA MORENTE

Flamenco running through her blood, singer Estrella Morente (daughter of the great Enrique) will make her debut in Buenos Aires tomorrow, Monday, at 9 p.m. at Teatro Coliseo. She is one of the best voices in the Spanish traditional music scene nowadays, a growing artist in what is commonly called “global music”. Tickets remain for her shows, which can be purchased on this website or in person at Teatro San Martín (Av. Corrientes 1530), today – Sunday – and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Estrella is 30 years old and was born in Granada into a family of flamenco artists. So far, she has released three albums, which received awards in her country and in the Spanish-speaking world. Perhaps her most well-known participation is, however, related to Pedro Almodovar’s cinema: she is the heartfelt voice singing the lyrics of “Volver” in the homonymous film starring the beautiful Penélope Cruz. After Volver, she also participated in other films: Fernando Trueba’s Chico & Rita and Carlos Saura’s Flamenco Flamenco.
