Local Artists

Escalandrum

This band was created in 1999 by Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla. In 2000 they released their first album, Bar Los Amigos, highly praised by the specialised press. Then followed Estados Alterados and Sexteto en Movimiento, in which they move away from the typical features of the genre by spicing it up with urban rhythms and folklore tunes. In 2004 the Konex Foundation placed them among the top 100 names of the Argentinian popular music of this past decade. From then on, they have released Misterioso and Visiones, works that are a good display of their many composers’ multiplicity of orchestration resources.
