This band originated in New York in 1998, as a natural consequence of countless jamming sessions among Richard Nant on the trumpet and percussion, Guillermo Klein on the piano, Matt Pavolka on the bass and Oscar Feldman on the sax. This formation performed in jazz clubs in Manhattan and in 1999 recorded, in a 6 hour session, their first album, Los Argentos, a two track direct recording. In 2003, Nant gathered back together the band with Álvaro Torres on the piano, Ariel Naón on the double bass, Pipi Piazzolla on the drums, Gustavo Musso and Pablo Rodríguez on the saxophones. With this formation plus the incorporation of Matías Méndez on the electric bass, they recorded in 2004 Manifestando, their second album.
Richard Nant, the band’s natural leader, has built a vast career in the United States, from which stands out his work alongside percussionist Giovanni Hidalgo.
