Vinicius Dorin

Born in 1962 in Ituverava, state of San Pablo, Brazil, Vinicius Dorin began studying piano at the age of 7. At 16 he began his professional career playing at ballroom dances. When he was 20 he moved to San Pablo, where he kept on studying music while performing with different bands like Banda da Patroa with Silvia Goes and Arismar do Espírito Santo, Orquestra 150 of hotel Maksoud Plaza, Johnny Alf, Laércio de Freitas, and others.

Between 1988 and 1990, he took part in the show Seduçao by singer Simone, with whom toured Brazil and Portugal. In 1991 and 1992, Dorin participated in Gal Costa’s show Plural, touring Brazil, Mexico and appearing at the Montreux Festival. Later on, in 1993, he became a member of Hermeto Paschoal’s band, appearing in several festivals worldwide and recording some of the essential albums of the brilliant, multi-faceted Brazilian world. He also recorded with drummer and composer Nené, with double bass player Arismar do Espíritu Santo, with guitarist Fernando Correa and with the big band Bissamblazz. At present, he is a member of the renowned Banda Mantiqueira.
