Trío Mora - Etchenique - Ibarburu

This trio features three of the most esteemed and sought-after musicians of the Montevideo scene. They have achieved a very natural fusion of elements from candombe and other varieties of Uruguayan music, rock and jazz. The three of them have shared stages and studio sessions with legendary figures of Uruguayan popular music, including Hugo Fattoruso, Leo Maslíah, Rubén Rada and Fernando Cabrera. The trio released the album Candelino under the local label Ayuí.
Nico Mora is not only a versatile, expressive guitarist but also shines as an innovative bandoneonist. He was awarded Best Composer at the Instrumental Music Festival in Montevideo. As a soloist he toured his country and also many others in Europe. He released La conversa under New York label BigWorld and his Mojo is coming out shortly on the same label. He received the Graffiti award for Best Jazz Album for Intuitivo, recorded with Fernando Goicoechea, Fernando Righi and José San Martín.
Gustavo Etchenique has performed at local and international concerts with the most renowned artists of his country’s popular music, such as Jaime Roos, Eduardo Mateo, Laura Canoura, Fernando Cabrera, Daniel Viglietti, Leo Maslíah, Hugo Fattoruso, Los Pusilánimes, Jorge Nasser, Rossana Taddei, Martín Buscaglia and Claudio Taddei, with many of whom he also recorded.
Andrés Ibarburu, born into a music family, lent his electric bass to a number of albums of different artists, including Rubén Rada, Jaime Roos and Armando Manzanero. He has also appeared with celebrated guitarist Hiram Bullock, percussionist Mino Cinelu, Luis Salinas and Fito Páez, among others.
