Biography

Sexteto Vocal Cabernet 's biography

The vocal sextet is one of the emblematic ensembles which jazz has established as tradition. Cabernet, from its very beginnings, has freely explored different genres of the popular music without ever leaving behind its particular jazz colour and a deep respect for that tradition. It is remarkable how its members draw on vocal percussion, the innovative use of onomatopoeias and the “vocalese”, as well as the healthy sense of humour they display in their shows. Cabernet exploits each and every one of the male vocal registers. Its members, Marcos Lozano, Diego Mercado, Manuel Moreira, Ale Dolina, Diego Pietropaolo and Pol Gonzalez, are professional singers and skilled musicians who in most cases are responsible for the compositions and arrangements. The band has toured throughout the country and appeared at several jazz festivals and gatherings of musicians, drawing superlatives from critics and fans alike.
The Cabernet guys are presenting their second album, SudRealismo, with a more Latin American spirit than their debut album plus a bonus: two songs with instrumental accompaniment. The album has garnered accolades from critics, audiences and fellow musicians. For this occasion they have prepared a special repertoire, based on a wide selection of jazz standards.
