Sergio Poli Cuarteto

Regarded by the specialised press as one of the greatest jazz violinists of our times, Sergio Polo boasts an extensive career both in the popular music and the teaching fields. He has the privilege of being the solo violinist of the Orquesta Estable del Teatro Argentino of the city of La Plata. His versatility led him to master different genres of the popular music and to share the stage with such distinguished musicians as Norberto Machline, Pablo Ledesma, Ricardo Lew, Jorge Navarro, Enrique Varela, Alejandro Herrera, Pocho Lapouble, Ricardo Nolé, Osvaldo Requena, José Collangelo and the rock band Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, among others. Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, the United States, Puerto Rico, Spain, Latvia, Egypt and Japan are some of the countries where he has performed and participated in the major jazz festivals. In 1985 he formed the ensemble Cordal Swing, with which he released two albums: Los Salieris de Django (2002) and Grappelliana (2005). Alongside his quartet he has just released Y en eso estamos…, featuring works of his own as well as of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Sonny Rollins and Thelonious Monk, among others.
