Ramiro Flores

Ramiro Flores studied composition at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) and saxophone at the Conservatorio Nacional López Buchardo. He won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music, where he studied with Joe Lovano and Jerry Bergonzi. He published a book and recorded an album, both on how to play the transverse flute, for Music Sales Corporation NYC. As the front man of his band he played original music in Boston and New York. He participated in the projects of Javier Malosetti, Mariano Otero, Pepi Taveira and Delfina Oliver. In 2006 he was the winner of the contest 80 Mundos and in 2007 he recorded and produced his first album, Flores (BAU Records), which was chosen among the best albums of the year by El Intruso magazine. He was granted the Clarín award for Best Jazz Newcomer 2007, and was chosen best saxophonist by newspaper La Nación in 2008.
