TOLLIVER AND THE ARGENTINE TEAM

TOLLIVER Y LA SELECCIÓN ARGENTINA

Tonight at CCC Teatro 25 de Mayo, in Villa Urquiza, Charles Tolliver will perform in one of the highlights of the BAJ.11: the notable American trumpeter and composer will lead a quartet with Argentine musicians Ernesto Jodos, Jerónimo Carmona and Pepi Taveira. In this way, the experience of 2008 will be repeated, in which the same musicians accompanied another illustrious visiting musician, Billy Harper. Afterwards, French pianist Baptiste Trotignon and Paris-based Argentine percussionist Minino Garay will deliver an original concert with a repertoire designed especially for the occasion. Tickets, starting at an affordable price of $20 pesos, are on sale at this website or can be purchased in person at La Casa de la Cultura (Av. De Mayo 575) and CCC Teatro 25 de Mayo (Av. Triunvirato 4444), 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., as well as at Recoleta’s Hard Rock Cafe (Av. Pueyrredón and Av. Libertador), 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

This will not be the only time to see these extraordinary musicians. Tolliver will perform again on Friday 4 at 8.30 p.m. at La Trastienda, accompanied by the Manuel de Falla Big Band, in an event included in the Special Projects section. And Minino Garay will play with his band, Los Tambores del Sur, on Friday 4 at 9 p.m. on the outdoor stage of the Terraza of the Centro Cultural Recoleta.
