Biography

Guitarist, arranger and producer Jeanfrançois Prins was born in Belgium, into a musical family. His parents own a jazz record store and his grandfather was a producer who recorded legendary Django Rheinhardt, among others. Prins absorbed the traditional lyricism of the Belgian guitar and combined it with the energy of the New York or Berlin sound. He arranged, produced and played the guitar on In the Sundance, the latest album of his wife, Judy Niemack, who frequently accompanies him on stage. His new album, El Gaucho (Challenge Records), was released in July 2012.
