Biography
Drummer and composer Hernán Mandelman was born in Buenos Aires in 1972. He has played with Guillermo Bazzola’s Summer Quartet, Juan Cruz Urquiza’s quintet, Carlos Lastra and Pepi Taveira, among others. He has lived in Brazil, France and Spain, and played with Chico Pinheiro, Max Pinto and Enzo Rocco. Back in Buenos Aires, he recorded Amistad, with Natalio Sued, Rodrigo Domínguez and Franck Oberson. He leads his own quintet, with Paula Shocron, Ezequiel Dutil, Juan Cruz de Urquiza and Rodrigo Domínguez. Detrás de esa puerta is his first solo album, and Dónde estás is to be released soon.
