Biography

Saxophonist Andrés Hayes was born in Buenos Aires in 1978. He plays in the Artistry Big Band and collaborates with musicians like Teo Cromberg, Juan Pablo Hernández and Carlos Álvarez, among others. He has played in several jazz ensembles – Deshoras, Mazaki Tazaki and HDV HC (with Austrian musicians). He currently performs concerts to launch his second album, Desde el jardín (Sofa Records), featuring his own original compositions and a piece by pianist Ernesto Jodos. At this year’s BAJ, Hayes will play in a quintet with Jodos himself, guitarist Patricio Carpossi, double bassist Jerónimo Carmona and drummer Pedro Ahets Etcheberry.
