Biography
Guitarist Patricio Carpossi was born in Buenos Aires in 1978. He studied guitar with
Irma Costanzo and then began his formal studies at the Instituto Tecnológico de Música
Contemporánea. He also took technique lessons with Pablo Bobrowicky and Armando
Alonso and harmony lessons with Manolo Juárez and Juan Carlos Cirigliano. In 1999, he traveled to New York City to study privately with Peter Bernstein, Bruce Barth, Steve
Cardenas and Barry Harris. After this experience, he enrolled at the Conservatory of
Amsterdam, where he studied for three years. Since his return to Argentina, he has
participated in a variety of music projects. He has recorded with Hernán Merlo, Sergio
Verdinelli, Mariano Otero, Luis Nacht, Guillermo Klein, Nina y El Lobo, Ramiro Flores and
Andrés Hayes, among other musicians and ensembles. He released three solo albums: Vidrieras, La corvina alegre and Minimal. He will perform the last one at this year’s
BAJ, with Ramiro Flores (tenor sax and clarinet), Mauricio Dawid (double bass) and
Sergio Verdinelli (drums).
