Biography

Ramiro Flores studied composition at the UCA and saxophone at the Carlos López Buchardo National Conservatory. In 1998, he was granted a scholarship by the Berklee College of Music. There, he had teachers such as Joe Lovano, George Garzone and Jerry Bergonzi. He went back to Argentina in 2005. Currently, besides being part of Mariano Loiácono’s quintet and the group Les Amateurs, he accompanies Ligia Piro, Juan Cruz de Urquiza, Javier Malosetti, Hernán Merlo, Mariano Otero, Pepi Taveira and Hernán Jacinto. He was the winner of the contest of 80 Mundos recording company. In 2007 he recorded Flores, his first album as bandleader. He composed the incidental music of the pieces Bicentenario Junto al Mar and Bicentenario Argentino, the latter projected over the Buenos Aires Cabildo last May 25th.
