Minino Garay

Biography

Percussionist Minino Garay was born in Córdoba, Argentina, but has been living in France for twenty years now, where he has played the rhythms of his homeland, blending them with African ones. He has collaborated with Magic Malik, Julien Lourau Groove Gang, Richard Bona and Daniel Mille. He created the band Los Tambores del Sur, which draws on African rhythms such as the Bantu. He has traveled across Africa with Dee Dee Bridgewater and played at the Festival Gnaoua et Musiques du Monde d’Essaouira (Morroco). The trip enabled him to meet and accompany pianist and singer Cheick Tidiane Seck, among other musicians. Qué lo parió! is his most recent album.
