Biography

Drummer Philippe Soirat was born in Menton, France, in 1961. He studied at the conservatory of Monaco and the Contemporary Music Center in Nice. In 1986, he moved to Paris and started his professional career. He has played with Barney Wilen, Ricky Ford, Lee Konitz, Yannick Rieu, Lionel and Stéphane Belmondo, Lou Donaldson, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ray Brown, Laurent de Wilde, Johnny Griffin, Mark Turner, Phil Woods, Steve Grossman. He recorded over 50 albums with Barry Harris, Yannick Rieu, Gordon Beck, Les Voice Messengers, Lenny Popkin, Ricky Ford, Ted Curson, Laurent Fickelson, François Théberge, among others.
