Quinteto Suárez Paz's biography

Quinteto Suárez Paz

Few musicians can approach the music of Piazzolla with such authority as the “Negro” Fernando Suárez Paz. A historical violinist of the Quinteto Nuevo Tango between 1978 and 1988, Suárez Paz has toured and recorded eighteen albums in different parts of the world alongside the Maestro, who dedicated “Escualo” to him as an homage. Since 1996, he has led his own quintet, created in the image and likeliness of the ensemble of which he was one of the mainstays, focused on the works of Piazzolla. To honor the great bandoneonist, Suárez Paz – violin and musical direction – has brought together a virtuosic team: Horacio Romo (bandoneon), Nicolás Ledesma (piano), Ricardo Lew (guitar) and Daniel Falasca (double bass), in addition to vocals by Beatriz Suárez Paz.
