Talent Campus

BAFICI - Talent Campus

The 8th edition of Talent Campus Buenos Aires starts on April 12, 2013 with the presentation of the main experts of the film industry.

The Universidad del Cine invites young filmmakers from all South American countries to participate in the new edition of Talent Campus Buenos Aires, which will be held over April 12-16, 2013, in cooperation with the Berlin Film Festival - Berlinale Talent Campus, the Goethe-Institut Buenos Aires, the [15th] Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI) and the Buenos Aires Lab (BAL).

The main goal of Talent Campus is to create an environment of participation and communication for young South American filmmakers in order to contribute to their training through the interaction with prominent figures and the exchange of ideas and projects.

The program will be held at the Universidad del Cine over five days and will consist of various seminars and workshops taught by outstanding professionals, scholars and intellectuals from the region and the entire world, who will provide a theoretical and practical framework to enrich the education of the participants. In addition to the specific activities on Campus, selected participants will be able to attend the [15th]Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI), where they will have the opportunity to further develop their career in the film industry.

In every edition, our challenge is to bring forward a topic that is current, interesting, appealing to the region and discussion-provoking, in order to encourage those who are interested to participate in the Talent Campus. This year, the focus will be on questions regarding today’s cinema: What is the specificity of cinema? What does cinema have that other visual arts don’t, and how are its practices and forms of exhibition different?

At the same time, and as is customary, we will hold the third edition of the Talent Press, a program dedicated to young critics and journalists,as well as four workshops in the framework of the Talent in Action. In addition to these sections, there will be a great number of activities in the Industry Meetings of the TCBA, which perfectly complement the places occupied by TC participants of previous year sin the WIP section of the BAL.

We would like to recognize the Goethe-Institut BA, the Embassy of France and the Embassies of Brazil and Colombia, as well as diverse film institutes and institutions of each country for making it possible for TCBA participants to come to Buenos Aires every April.
