Antigua Jazz Band
Synopsis
Since its beginnings in 1968, Antigua Jazz Band has focused on a clear mission: making African-American jazz known to wider audiences with a repertoire of pieces written by Joe King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and Duke Ellington; played in the style of the authors, often with instruments such as the blue blowing, kazoo, washboard and banjo, to show the African roots of jazz. The band’s extensive career, including countless tours and releases, continues to the present with its most recent shows A jazz vamos, with comedian Adrián Stoppelman, and Black & Blue, with Opus Cuatro.
