Synopsis

Jorge is a fugitive who escaped prison a year before finishing his sentence; JW is a student pretending to be like his rich friends even though he drives a cab and lives in a boarding house; and Mrado is an active member of the Yugoslavian mafia who wants to get away from that life and concentrate on parenthood. They all have a reason for wanting to retire, although before that they need a big score that would permit them to rebuild their lives with some comfort. The three reckon the solution could be transporting a huge amount of cocaine hidden in vegetable crates. But they’re not all in the same team, and they will fight over the deal with every resource available. With this adaptation of the homonymous book that initiates Jens Lapidus’ trilogy, Espinosa shows dark and unseen corners of Stockholm under an aesthetic that even when it never sets realism aside –and maybe because of that– it also doesn’t spare situations of tremendous violence and confrontation.
