Ernesto Jodos

Pianist and composer, he was born in Buenos Aires in 1973. At the age of 16 he attended a seminar given by vibraphonist Gary Burton, where he received a grant to study in the United States with great teachers such as Sophia Rosoff, Marc Copland, Ed Bedner and Hal Crook. Part of his career was developed there, along with Guillermo Klein’s Big Van, Fernando Tarrés and Arida Conta Group and Conrad Herwig, among others. Back in Argentina, he recorded and performed with the most outstanding representatives of jazz and the popular music. He is the director of the Jazz Course of the Conservatory of Music Manuel de Falla, and Head of the Performance Department of the Contemporary Music School. His vast discography as a soloist includes albums with diverse formations, from sextets to a solopiano. His latest album, dedicated to the music of distinguished pianist Lennie Tristano, earned him a Gardel award as Best Jazz Album 2007.
