Jerónimo Carmona

He was born in Zárate, in the province of Buenos Aires, in 1978. He studied at the ITMC (Technological Institute of Contemporary Music) in Buenos Aires, where he graduated along with Marcelo Torres and Paco Weht, among others. He is, most probably, the most in-demand double bass player of the current jazz scene and has accompanied almost all jazz musicians of the city.

Carmona is a regular member of Paula Shocron’s trio and Fernando Tarrés’s quintet, and has participated in the collective improvisation band En el Aire and the ensemble called Ensamble Nacional del Sur, devoted to electroacoustic music and directed by prestigious composer Oscar Edelstein.
