Ricardo Cavalli was born in 1969. In 1994 he obtained a scholarship to study Jazz Composition at the Berklee College of Music of Boston, where he studied with Frank Tiberi, from the Woody Herman Band, and Greg Hopkins. Back in Buenos Aires in 1999, he quickly became engaged in the local scene, recording and appearing with bands of such great musicians as Guillermo Klein, Javier Malosetti, Guillermo Bazzola, Ernesto Jodos, Adrián Iaies and Pepi Taveira. His first album, La Entrega, came out in 2002, and later followed Súndaram (Belleza) in 2004. Besides his work with his steady trio, Cavalli usually performs on a duo with pianist Guillermo Romero.
