Neil Clarke is a renowned percussionist born in 1951 in the United States. He collaborated with numerous artists of diverse musical genres, with whom he always felt equally efficient and at ease sharing stages throughout the world. He has been a member of Randy Weston’s band for many years, and has had long-standing relationships with many notable artists such as Harry Belafonte, Dianne Reeves, David Sanborn, Miriam Makeba and Paul Winter. He also collaborated closely with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and the International African American Ballet. He made his foray into cinema in the feature film Beat Street and into theatre in the Broadway production of Timbuktu.
In the past years, Clarke has made numerous appearances on American cable TV programmes on music.
With his own characteristic style which blends the drummer and the percussionist together, Clarke has conducted several clinics and is a musical resource given his vast knowledge of African percussion.
