Federico Dannemann

This Chilean guitarist took his first guitar lessons at age 9. Self-taught in the area of jazz, he plays an active role in the young Chilean jazz scene. After earning his degree in Music Theory from the Universidad de Chile, he won a scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies in jazz performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Back in Chile, he ventured into other genres, namely rock, blues and Latin American music, alongside some of the greatest local artists: Francesca Ancarola, Cristian Cuturrufo, Daniel Lencina and the Rue Morgue, among others. In 2006 he was one of the finalists of the Gibson Jazz Guitar Competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival. At present he lives in Buenos Aires, where in addition to leading his own projects, he performs with Pedro Aznar.
