Valentín Reiners

This guitarist, arranger and composer from the city of Olavarría conducts different jazz ensembles, both in Buenos Aires and his hometown. In addition to his personal projects, where he performs his own works, he conducted the Proyecto Duke, Orquesta Errante and Satch Big Band; and he has performed alongside local and international musicians of great renown, including Conrad Herwig III, Ernesto Jodos, Walter Malosetti, Pepi Taveira, Juan Cruz Urquiza, Fats Fernández, George Haslam (England), Paolo Russo (Denmark) and Carlos Aguirre. He arranges for the Banda Municipal de Tandil and is currently being commissioned by many ensembles to work as an arranger, guitarist or conductor.
He teaches Technical Elements at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel de Falla in Buenos Aires, where he also conducts the Big Band and the Nonet, and is headteacher at the Escuela Municipal de Música de Olavarría.
Having studied in his hometown, he moved to Buenos Aires, where he studied Guitar, Arranging and Composition at the Instituto Tecnológico de Música Contemporánea and at the Escuela de Música Contemporánea. He also took part in several clinics, (Pat Metheny, Robert Fripp, Stanley Jordan, Larry McCray, among others). He took private lessons in guitar with Pino Marrone, Alejandro Moro and Guillermo Arrom, and in harmony and improvisation with Ernesto Jodos, Enrique Norris and Juan “Pollo” Raffo, among others.
