Juan Pablo Arredondo

Juan Pablo Arredondo was born in Campana, in the province of Buenos Aires, in 1978. He began his music studies at the Instituto Tecnológico de Música Contemporánea (ITMC) and eventually devoted entirely to jazz when enrolling at Berklee International Network (BIN). He studied composition with Teodoro Cromberg and took private lessons with Ernesto Jodos, Tim Berne, Ben Monder, Angélica Sánchez and Tony Malaby. Juan Pablo has performed with many fellow musicians: Mariano Otero, Ernesto Jodos, Fernando Tarrés, Luis Nacht, Sergio Verdinelli, Hernán Merlo and Rodrigo Domínguez.
He released two albums: Lo que las paredes oyen, in 2004, and Trío, in 2008 (BAU Records) and collaborated on countless recordings, including those of Mariano Otero, Fernando Tarrés, Luis Nacht, Lucía Pulido and Mariana Baraj.
For this edition of the Festival, Arredondo composed some original music to be performed by the nonet from the conservatory of music Manuel de Falla.
