Armando Alonso

Armando Alonso is one of Buenos Aires historical jazz guitarists. He has been the teacher of many of the musicians on stage nowadays and his presentation in Buenos Aires Jazz represents a sort of come back after a long time out of the city and away from Buenos Aires’ stages. His artistic career began in 1980. He played with Walter and Javier Malosetti, Lito Epumer, Dino Saluzzi, Enrico Rava, Arto Tuncboyaci, Alejandro Sanguinetti, Jorge “Negro” González, Roberto Césari “Junior”, Pepi Taveira, Hernán Merlo, Carlos Lastra and Norberto Minichillo, among others. He is one of the founders of Avellaneda Popular Music School, where he gives guitar classes and group jazz practice. His trio is completed by Rodrigo Cagnone (bass) and Agustín Barbieri (drums).
