The opening of this festival has a high symbolic content. For one side, Frank Carlberg and Christine Correa and their avant-garde proposal and, on the other side, The Mingus Dinasty, the group that has delved into the best modern jazz tradition: Charlie Mingus music. Carlberg will also introduce us his modern quintet. For the first time in Argentina, one of the most important musicians of the European stage: the pianist Enrico Pieranuzi, who comes to offer his numerous facets: the trio, the soloist piano and a festival closing with the presentation of his project Fellini Jazz for which he has invited argentine solo artists to share the stage. Double-bass player Renaud Garcia Fons and his quartet make a collage in which a combination of flamenco music, Latin rhythms and the huge melodic tradition of the French music are present. Buenos Aires Jazz 2010 always makes room for the best South-American music: from Brazil, the duet Senise & Peranzzetta; Chilean jazz, which surprised us in 2009, this time represented by trumpeter Sebastián Jordán and his quintet; and the beloved and mythical Hugo Fattoruso, an emblem of the Rio de la Plata.
