Belén Pérez Muñiz

The Singer Belén Pérez Muñiz is renowned for her commitment to Brazilian popular music. Daughter of the creators and owners of La Fusa, the legendary café concert, Belén grew up surrounded by famous Brazilian musicians. Nana y Dori Caymmi, Toquinho, Chico Buarque, Zé Renato, Joyce, Marilia Medalha, Maria Creuza, Maria Bethânia and Vinicius de Moraes used to stay at her house. It was Vinicius the one that taught her to express herself by means of poetry. She had the privilege of starting her career in the company of this artist and friend that shaped her style and taught her great part of the repertoire. They also appeared together in the publicity board during her lasts performances in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. Belén has also performed in Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Barcelona, Montevideo and Buenos Aires, as well as in different provinces of Argentina. In 2006, she introduced Clareza, her first album with music and poetry of Brazilian authors. Nowadays, she is presenting Passagens, her second record released by Acqua Records in which she includes some of her own compositions. The band is formed this time by Leo Alvarez (guitar and arrangements), Paul Dourge (bass), Fabián Miodownik (drums), Fernando Lerman (sax and flute), Gustavo Cámara (saxes) and Alfredo de Souza (percussion).
