Biography
Guitarist and composer Juan Pablo Hernández graduated from the Escuela de Música Contemporánea. In 2003–2004, he took improvisation and ensemble lessons with Ernesto Jodos and, in 2009, with Ben Monder and Steve Cardenas. In 2005, he was a semifinalist in the Montreux Jazz Festival Guitar Competition. He plays in Gustavo Bergalli’s trio and in a duo with Francisco Lo Vuolo. He currently leads a quintet. His first album is La memoria de los sueños (BAU, 2011).
